My name is Sarah Strahm and I am a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
I was born and raised in Ohio and grew up dreaming of following in the footsteps of my grandparents. My grandmother was a nurse and my grandfather was a family physician. I started nursing school at the hospital in which I was born and started to work for the same hospital system in 2005 while I finished my nursing degree on a neurology unit. I fell in love with neurology very quickly and have spent the majority of my time in the medical field involved in neurology. Following a change in nursing schools, I completed my degree from Lourdes College and transitioned quickly in to the nurse role within the unit I was already working. This unit also provided my with experience in palliative and trauma care.
In 2013 my husband accepted a position in Chicago and we relocated to the area. While finishing my nurse practitioner degree I work at the University of Chicago in the surgical ICU and came to realize how much I missed neurology. Upon completion of my degree and meeting Dr. Kassar, I knew that I had found my place back in neurology.
I have been happily married to my husband, Steven since 2010. We have been enjoying our time without children traveling and camping. We have two cats and a dog that keep us entertained and are as spoiled as children. I also enjoy scrapbooking and sewing, as well as spending time with family back in Ohio.
I went into the medical profession so that I could make a difference in the lives of other people. I pride myself on providing every patient with the best, most personal care with the most current medical information. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your care.
